Say HR, Older GV's

On the older GV I've seen, The hoffman mixer is only provides partial mixing, It was hooked up onto a separate 3/4 inch connection. I don't believe it was intended to provide full protection....I think the instructions still required either by pass piping or a return mixing valve, but it has been awhile since I l ooked at it or talked to the techs. I believe it chief intention was to allow the boiler to warm up quickly in typical baseboard systems. You may want to double check this. I'm sure you don't want any of your boilers looking like theGV Glenn Stanton has a picture of. I believe it is a picture of a GV that was installed in a gravity conversion without external protection.
