Aqua Therm opinions needed

Please give me your thoughts and experiences with the following setup.
House has 2 zones of heat pumps/central air (upstairs & down)with a aquatherm back up as emergency heat, which is fueled by a propane water heater.
How is the efficiency of this setup and would you think it would be more cost effective to run it in heat pump mode on days that are not extremely cold or do you think the aquatherm may be the better way to go all the time.
The electric strips are off and are not used.
Thanks for any thoughts and input you may have.

propane
I don't know about your neck of woods, but here a watt of electric is a whole lot cheaper then cuft of propane.
run heatpump for 45degree and above outdoor temp. the expensive stuff 45 and below.hope this helps.Oh yeah a
pull thru coil is more efficent then a blow thru coil.It seem like every time i clean a aqua therm heater coil the only part that is dirty is the part that is in front of the blower, hmmm! i wonder about it true capacity. don0
