Bock Direct Vent

Anybody had any problems or comments on the bock oil fired, direct vent water heaters. The ones I have seen installed around this area had carlin burners with pre and post purge. These units do not use powerventers either. I have been out on estimates to replace these that were only a year old. Customers have had them soot up there house. The installations were very poor. They had air scoops, circulators, flo-checks, and expansion tank that were not rated for domestic water. Nice plumbing inspectors. I did not troubleshoot these units, could have never been set up right, based on what I have seen. Thanks in advance for any input!
