Service - Jeff Lawrence

Hope the lead in made sense.

Twice a year, I take my business and personal vehicles in to be serviced. To me, that means, take it apart and find anything that may go wrong in the next six months. Brakes, U-joints(a recent problem), transmissions, tune-ups, etc.

I tell my mechanic, whom I do trust, the limit of money to spend. If the number is under that, the only call I want to hear is "It's done, come and get it." Otherwise, I want to know how much it is before the work is done. None of this 'We didn't check that' garbage(I got a transmission rebuild at half price out of that one; I know I paid for that later). We handle the oil changes at every 3,000 miles. The rest is his.

How do y'all handle you vehicle maintenance?

J.
