something new. After installing a couple hundred thousand feet of Pex, this is my first foray into PAP for radiant. I have used it for higher temp baseboard and like it for that use, but I'm still deciding whether to finish this project with it or go back to Pex. I like the fact that it holds corners and turnarounds well and that is easier if working alone. I just think it's very cumbersome to use and go quickly. Maybe you guys that use it often have some tips you would like to share (g). I had to coil up 6 leaders of 30' each so I could get a pressure test and it was very easily accomplished with Wirsbo's Multicor. It would have been a hassle with Pex. Pex vs. PAP hmmmm...............

No uncoiler?
Dan,
How on eaarth do you handle a 1000' roll of tube without the benefit (?) of an uncoiler? I agree with the assertion that PAP of an uncoiler requires staightening of the tube, so tell me an easier way, please!

No, but
you might be able to do Hoola-Hoops with a 200 or 300 footer.

A time and place for PAP
but I'm not ready to give up on regular pex. I used 300 foot rolls of Multicor on a job and just held them in my arm and uncoiled them into the pattern. After all the loops were down I fine tuned them for spacing and fastened them down.
I'll still take a 1000' foot roll of 3/8" regular pex on an uncoiler for tight crawl space, plate job, any day Keep them both in your "bag of tricks"

Style choices
PAP is well enough behaved to walk into place. I work mostly with 1/2" (1000' rolls) on wire in wet and 3/8" (600' rolls) in dry on top apps so the neck craning, plates and joist bay techniques are not too important in my world. Enjoy....Dan
