Hy Vents

What are you guys using for air scoop/ boiler hy vents. I have used both sparco and Taco. I have not had very good luck with either. After a few months many will start to leak out of the cap on top. I have tried to clean them out but no luck, same problem...and i end up replacing the whole thing.I have stared to use the shutoffs that Legend makes but that only makes replacement easier not ,eliminatied. What do you think? Thanks, Kevin C.

I use a lot of Taco Hy-Vents
and have never had a problem. Maybe you just got a couple bad ones?

I have been using Spiro-vent air eliminators for a few years with no problems.
I wish I had a dime for every leaking air vent I've seen that had the caps screwed down tight.
Hope this helps!

Setting Float Bleeders
It is recommended to just crack the cap of a float bleeder. If you let them vent too fast , dirt has a tendency getting sucked in to the seat of the shrader valve...0 -
B&G
B&G enhanced air seperators have worked pretty well, You may also replace the vents (if necessary, haven't replaced one yet)without taking apart manifold. also like the fact that you can enter either from vertical or horizontal position.
Hope this helps.

see it all the time
all depends on the quality of water in the system. Anti-freeze? forget it. they are gummed up real quick. This is where the Spirovents shine..1 or 2 calls to replace a Hi vent, and you have just paid for the Spiro.
