Pool radiant

Has anybody tried heating a pool with radiant by just putting the tubing right in pool itself as opposed to heat exchangers?? Did it work well? was it a pain? etc.

I have seen it done with
tubing embedded in the pool gunite walls. Tubes in the pool would need to be a real good stainless variety to handle chlorine and ph extremes. Pool water can be very agressive if the chemistry gets a mind of it's own!

We calculated such a job for a customer who wanted to warm his new outdoor pool with radiant, to match his new home, pool surround, etc. His job may be somewhat unique due to the pool size, but we concluded that we could not warm the water to his specifications in the spring and fall by the radiant method only. He decided to allow the use of a Raypak pool heater to directly warm the water instead. Good luck with your project!0
