Does anyone know where I can get certified for New York State? Or anyone who would know this information. I would prefer Westchester County, but will travel if I have to.

certification
Your local water company should have the necessary information. Ours decided that they would require certification through the New England water Works Association (www.newwa.org) and we attended a three day certification course that included a hands-on lab. One of the few courses I've ever taken that was based on field knowledge with real-world application. The hands on lab was very benificial in that there were a wide variety of backflow preventers set up in a working mode. After the first hands-on session, all were set up with various malfunctions and we were scored on determining the problems.
If your local water purveyor is in the dark, the NEWWA can provide dates & times & locations for certification.
