?? Reverse cycle chiller - Tom Wilson

Living in an area that requires a) heat b) a/c with mucho humidity removal and c) no natural gas led me to check out a "reverse cycle chiller" manufactured in South Carolina. Its claim in wonderfulness as a heat source for radiant panels and a/c is up there with sliced bread and the double bed. Limitations include no establishment of long term durability, no independant testing or comparisons to costs and performance of conventional heat pump systems. Should we roll the dice with this new "thing" or stay safe with a boiler and conventional split system a/c? Does anyone know ANYTHING about this technology and the manufacturer (Aqua Products).

We too looked closely at their products, but have decided to go with a Flat Plate HX and design our own chilled water system for a four zone A/C application. Flat Plate manufactures a HX specifically for freon to chilled water. Due to using water, rather than air, as the heat exchange medium - the SEER ratings more than double! This then places the chilled water system slightly more efficient than a ground source heat pump.
