I visited this timber frame workshop today. Three draft horses spin an old truck rear end, which goes thru a Spicer 10 speed truck tranie, A 40 foot long steel shaft has pulley connections for the various saws, drills, planers, etc.
With the various positioners on the ceiling this Amish shop can handle 60 foot long logs. Not exactly an OSHA reg. shop, but amazingly efficient.
