Your shed needs a 1/2 moon cut into the door! lol. Just kidding. The barter system usually works for tradesmen. Those who have a trade (physical skill) usually come through. Careful with bartering for virtual thing,Like insurance, investments, and promises. I have also been taken with bartering with the health industry. anyway bigugh

    Is alive and well................

I have a buddy who is a carpenter. He put an addition on his home last year.I did the P&H.We agreed on a flat rate/day rate which worked fine for both.In the end his finances were a bit worn and I said I'd barter. So we did.And it worked real nice.I must say I have been stung in the past with the barter system but when it works it certainly is nice.

The pic is my shed:)Local code allows you to build 100sq' or less without a permit. So my shed is 8 X 12.Alot of recycled lumber from renovation jobs and a neighbors deck that fell from snow and shoddy workmanship. The flitch boards are from a local mill. The height was decided by some of the 9' recyled 2x6.And the overhangs are 5'for storage.

It was a nice weekend project.

    bartering

I knew a dentist that bartered with some of his patients. When one of the patients was delivering his weekly baked goods, another patient became jealous and turned him in for tax evasion! Did not look like it would work out for the dentist until he just denied it. There was no paper trail. He was wise enough to keep the barter work in a seperate journal

I once traded plumbing and radiant heat in two houses for a pig [bacon ,chops, ham etc.] and a 28ga. dbl. barrel! I guess I came out on top on that one. I'll post pictures when I get the film developed.
