Automatic air removal

with the folks I bought my Solar Thermal system from yesterday. Seems they have had some problems with automatic air bleeders melting the plastic float when very high temps occur. (stagnation temps) Are there any auto air bleeds that don't use plastic floats? What about steam traps or something similar? Thanks for any help. WW

air vents
Most auto air vents won't take the temps a collector may see at times. I think 240 deg may be about it. I am not sure if the caleffi solar ones can do higher. I suggest you put a manual isolation (ball) valve and just use a coin type steam vent on that. After the air is bled off just shut the valve. That's what I do and I have been to some high temps.0
