Steam Pressure gauge

My American Standard circa 1970 steam boiler needs a new pressure gauge. Is it easy to replace and of so, where can I get another one?

    Replacing gauge

Could be very easy or maybe not, is it on a pig tail? Better yet have service tech.change it when doing annual service on boiler cheaper in long run and won't add much to bill. P.S. It's been on for over 30yrs and like anything that long might have to replace some other parts depending how it's installed on boiler.Hope this helps

    Try one of these

Low Pressure gauges from Winters Instruments. If you have a One-Pipe or Two-Pipe Air-Vent system you shouldn't be running more than 2 pounds, so a gauge that reads 0-5 pounds will work well. If you have a Vapor system it probably runs 1/2 pound or so and they have gauges to match. But check your local code, I've heard of some that require gauges that will read twice the boiler's maximum pressure rating- which is usually 15 pounds. This is why we see a l0t of 30-pound gauges on 1/2-pound Vapor systems.

    Gauge

A 30lb steam gauge is a must on low pressure steam boilers, this is an a.s.m.e. code requirement. Double the max working pressure. But by all means you can add another gauge at a lower pressure to get a more accurate reading.

A residential boiler with a 30lb gauge will barely move the dial if setup properly.
