I have a boiler that is being removed from a job that is only 10 yrs. old.(Smith 8ser. 3sec.) Still in great shape, It just would be too small w/ the new addition. I plan to use it else where to help out someone but not sure when. How do i best prepare this boiler to sit for a few months? I am concerned about the o rings getting brittle and then leaking. Thanks!

If boiler will only be off line for that short time you shouldn't have any worry about leaks. If it makes you feel better once in storage plug all openings but top and fill with water? [Just don't do this if freezing is possible.] I have put large & small boilers into dry storage for maintence reasons for over 6 months at a time without trouble.0 -
Would there be any benefit
to filling the boiler with some anti corrosive glycol????? I would think so.0
