Need Wallies opinion on new contractor group

The link below is to an article I wrote about this new contractor group. Please believe me, I'm not tooting my horn here, just interested in some honest opinions.

I had a conversation with a contractor recently who was invited to be an initial investor in Service Nation. He thought long and hard and decided to pass on the opportunity. The reason? The hvacr trade is still heavily made up of people who have worked for years with their hands and have not embraced the idea of change -- especially toward Internet-based training. Hell, some probably have never booted up a computer.

Service Nation's success will depend on signing up between 2,000 - 3,000 contractors, many of whom we call "Mom and Pop shops." The subscription rates are very low and affordable to most people. Do you think this is a good idea, a flawed idea, or somewhere in between?

I'd like your thoughts too, Dan.

  • does this have anything to do with plumbers who just do

mainly small servicing on old steam systems, when most of the time is spent plumbing?

    Gerry:

I doubt that there are any restrictions on membership which would exclude plumbers. But you might go to their website and get a contact number (www.servicenation.org).

Invision tell me that this software

doesn't do hot links because of security reasons so you'll have to copy and paste the URL to your browser.
    Retired and loving it.
