Gottta job where i am trying to get all the ducks lined up, one trip hopefully.

Are most guys using the shut offs or no?

If Yes- are you simply exposing them?

The 'covers' wont work if I get the shut offs, correct or incorrect?

Thanks

I had a Runtal baseboard installed in my home recently (14ft long, 4 panels high). We used the Runtal shut-off valves (they are actually manufactured by Oventrop, see below), and I was surprised to find out that these have a fairly large pressure loss, even when fully open. The spec sheet shows a Kv of 1.7, which is a Cv of 1.97. If you are installing in a system that will have high head to begin with, this probably doesn't matter, but in my gravity conversion system it is a problem that I'm still trying to fix…

  • I like using shutoffs. Unfortunately, you can't get these Ballofix angle valves/unions here anymore. Runtal has or had larger end covers that would hide the valves and piping.

If I am not mistaken these valves. the "pipe cover straight valves" are designed to fit inside of the pipe covers

the person who installed this one:

does not understand how there radiators work. What ever the BTU per lineal foot rating on the spec sheet says… multiply times 0.35 and your might be close to what that radiator is providing.

After you make that expensive repair and you still have the same problem, What will you check next?
