I'm in my 70's now & reflect often on where I've been & how I got here.

Some of my fondest work experiences were outfitting commercial kitchens where I witnessed the parallel between classic cooking and mechanical trade apprenticeships. I came across this passage from a celebrity chef who I admire, Jaques Pepin. " Whether it is in painting, in cooking, in cabinet making or any other craft, you have to become a good technician and repeat and repeat until you reach a point where you have so internalized those skills that they become an unconscious part of you".

I can tell by the quality & generosity of advice shared on this forum that many of us have these unconscious skills.....

Hi @MikeL_2 , You nailed it! This is why I write and encourage others here to write, or put their know-how down in some form, so it can be available forever more. Together, we've spent lifetimes learning how to do "it" right. Why not use that hard-won information to help others have a less steep learning curve? Thanks for this 😇

    Yours, Larry
