Ek1 tank flush
Hello All,
Would really appreciate some advice how to flush EK1 water tank. I searched the forum and couldn't find. Its an EK1 with a 40 gallon tank. Tank has a hot and cold on top and a drain on bottom front. There are shut off valves for all pipes in/out. Attaching a pic if that helps. I have done a lot of reviewing flushing a regular hot water tank with cold in and hot out. But this is a bit different. I think I see the valves I need to close, leaving just the hot out open. Then open drain. Hoping I have that right.

With regard's to flushing your storage tank. Shut off the boiler and the cold water feed, open a hot water faucet or 2. Attach a hose to the drain valve and open it. Allow the water to drain out via gravity. Refill and repeat.
The cold water feeds from the bottom so its not really possible to flush the tank with positive water pressure flow with out adding water from a different source.
Or if you turned off the ball valve below the 006 smart pump, run a hose to the drain valve above smart pump from another water source and connect using a washing machine hose ( female at both ends) , shut the cold feed to the tank off and run a hose from the bottom tank drain to a safe location, you could Force fresh water thru the plate exchanger into the cold tank inlet at the top of the tank and power flush the tank.
Hope this helps.
Dm me if there's any other info needed.
