IBC boiler and hard water
Looking to replace my Triangle Tube boiler that is 14 years old. I went with a TT with SS heat exchanger due to my hard water. The guy that I know and trust, installs IBC. IBC have different models. Any recommendations for which model t go with? I’m particularly curious about the one with aluminum hx but with copper waterways.
Also a side note, does IBC have settings for 2 separate heating curves like my Triangle Tube to control baseboard and infloor radiant zones? TIA

is this a combi boiler? The boiler should only need to be filled once .
unless you have leaks in the system it should not take more water
You can buy a one time filter cartridge to fill the boiler which takes 90% of the minerals out, it is best to start with good water, regardless of copper stainless, cast iron, aluminum material
Most boiler brands have a variety of models . The upper models have the most control options. Search the model options at their website
The controls that offer multi temperature output can only provide one temperature at a time unless you use an additional mixing device

No I will have an existing indirect. As far as the curves, yes one at a time with TT as well. I do have mix valves for when the high temp curve is being satisfied. I’m looking specifically at the SFB series.

I have installed a bunch of SFB and SFC.
They are a decent unit. Simple design but effective.
I have a SFC in my own home.

Nice! Does the SFB have multiple heating curves?

SFB does not have multiple curves. It has the one that is pretty flexible. The VX would be the next step up.

I have both baseboard heat and high mass infloor radiant. 90% of the time, my Triangle Tube runs on the low temp curve so I guess having 2 isn’t a deal breaker. I’ll look into the VX. Thanks
