Aquasmart 7600A self-check lockout

Hello,

I have an Aquasmart 7600A that upon startup goes into lockup self-check after running for between 15-20 minutes.

The manual says:

“SELF-CHECK - An internal safety check, such as the check on the B1 relay contacts, has failed. Hold ENTER (RESET) key for 5 seconds to reset from this condition. If the error occurs again, replace the control.”

I have to hold the reset button down for upwards of 20-30 seconds at times and at times have to release and re-press.

High 200 deg F

High Diff 8 deg F

Low 142 deg F

Low Diff 10 deg F

All set by the previous maintenance tech from when I had a service contract.

It also sounds as if there is some relay chattering within the Aquasmart itself when the boiler is staring up after being in standby. Is this indicative of an impending control failure?

The burner is a Carlin 70200 reaches flame proven and seems to be functioning normally and the thermostats for my 4 zones call as required.

When all the water in the loops and boiler are at the correct temperatures, what would cause the self check failure to continuously re-occur after a standby startup?

Thanks!
Adam

I've run into this too. Replace the control with the current model, the 7610A. And change the sensor too. Some of the early models were problematic, but the current ones work well.
