Hi everyone, I’m hoping some of the HVAC/R brothers can give me some advice.

Because of my parents, I may need to move to New York to take care of them. I’m currently with UA Local 322 in New Jersey, and I would prefer not to transfer my union if possible.

Does anyone know if there are any Local 638 contractors in New York that might hire me from Local 322 without transferring locals? I have about four years of HVAC/R experience, and I’m currently a 4th-year apprentice, but I’m able to work independently.


I’d really appreciate any information. Thanks in advance.

    I would talk to your BA & or Bm and get them in the loop. They would know if this is possible. They should be able to work something out. People work out of town all the time. The length of time could be an issue.
