Are there any appliances out there that still require a 45 sec. TFI?

I've found a few burners with the Carlin 48245 E Series Oil Primary Control with the jumper installed , setting 45 sec TFI. I always remove the jumper setting 15 sec. I believe the jumper is installed by default which seems negligent.

    That's exactly what I would do.

    If any burner needs 45 seconds to light something is wrong.

    I would rather go back to a 90 second stack switch.

    why use a primary control at all? Ignition transformers and electrode insulators made today never fail.

    After you make that expensive repair and you still have the same problem, What will you check next?

    @EdTheHeaterMan

    There was an alleged "technician"I was told that worked on a burner that was locking out. He took the control off and wired around it and the burner ran for a year with no issues until someone with a brain looked at it.
