FA32 relay question

I finally had to replace this relay - GE 3ARR4 FA32 - which happily buzzed its butt off for at least 20 years.

The one I removed did not have this teardrop shaped tab on it and I'm curious as to its purpose.

Don't know where you found that everywhere I looked it said obsolete etc

I would suspect that tab with the hole could be rotated to use for a mounting screw. just guessing. Is that a potential relay?

Looks like it keeps the relay from spinning.

    Better. Quieter. Cheaper? Pretty light.

Hi Ed, I purchased it from carbonbrush dot com. It was very hard to locate, but it is an exact replacement and installed.

HVACNUT I'm sure you're correct. I chose this one because it was on the boiler and was able to get the exact replacement.

You guys are great thanks again
