All my radiators are not getting hot at the same time. The first one gets hot then the 2nd, 3rd ect… I'm thinking my main vent may be shot. I have a Hoffman 75 it was letting steam out untill I tapped on it and it stopped. Is this bad ?? Also I want to speed up the main vent. Which is better a Gorton 2 or Barnes Big mouth ??

Yes, sounds like a non working or insufficient vent. What length steam main/s do you have and pipe size?

Picture of current vent placement would also be helpful.

I think that depends on what you like, they both work.

I like the Big mouth for these reasons.

You can take it apart to repair it.

I believe it has much more venting capacity than the Gorton 2. The vent port is on the side and threaded so you can restrict or adjust the venting capacity if you need to.

You will need a 5/8" (I think) hex tool to properly install the spud to the main piping.
