Steam Clean kills steam traps?

I just walked into a job where a oil man installed a boiler on a 2 pipe steam system. I found multiple issues with the installation but the biggest offender was "steam clean" in the system. Even after replacing some steam traps that were passing the new traps are already passing steam again after a day. Could the chemicals the installer put in cause the traps to jam?
