Question about insulation of pipes with Boiler
Basement in our new(to us) house is quite warm and I assume it’s from the Boiler. I started to insulate to pipes but wasn’t sure if I should insulate all the way to the circulator? Also, some of the copper pipe is wider than 1 inch but I don’t seem to see any foam insulation larger than 1 inch.

there are a number of online insulation suppliers and prices are reasonable
Do not use the cheap foam that you find at hardware stores, it will not hold up at boiler temperatures
Armacell is a good name, the split version with the glue tab works well, 3, 4” and larger is available
Probably you have 1 or 1-1/4 tube
It will be 1-1/8 or 1-3/8” OD
1-1/2 copper is 1-5/8 OD
The heat loss from the pipes is still within the building, but no need to have a hot mechanical room
