Hi, first time installing a Buderus oil fired boiler, G115 3. There is no liner in the firebox, and the instructions don’t mention it at all. Not sure how to proceed.

Thanks

There is no refractory in a G115 chamber. Its designed that way. Is it an OEM burner? Meaning the burner flange is welded to the air tube, and insertion depth is factory set for the G115/3?

I’m using an ex1 with 7” tube. Going to set it up as recommended by the Carlin burner tables. The flange is welded to the tube.

Ok, unless my Carlin OEM manual is wrong, they want a 12 inch air tube with a 4 inch insertion. Are you a licensed contractor?

Best to instal the Buderus OEM burner ,it is already tuned for the boiler .. Besides color matching :)

There was an error rendering this rich post.

Wrong chart that is for gas. This is oil right?

Buderus will take burers and size the to fit each individual application.

Where did you get the EZ1? Hope it came with the boiler.

The flame retention oil burners flames (Just about every oil burner sold today) generates a hot enough flame so no refractory is necessary to reflect heat back into the oil spray droplets to provide complete combustion. I was learned that when I was just a little oil burner trainee. and there was still "Quiet May®" and "Silent Flo™" and "Oil Waster®" oil burners that required a combustion chamber. Ya'll can run that Carlin EX EZ oil burner without a combustion chamber.

    Hope this helps

Oops, I forgot about the coyote's favorite oil burner "ACME"

After you make that expensive repair and you still have the same problem, What will you check next?

Yes, it is oil. Yes I’m a licensed contractor. I like the Carlin burners, I’ve had good luck with them. Maybe I’ll spray paint it blue:)

    Thanks for all the responses.
