Probably using the wrong description but my Buderus boiler has the exhaust flue running through the lower sill plate of my house. As you can see from the photo, it's in sad shape. What is the proper name I should be using to search for a replacement? TIA

Can you post some shots of inside at the power vent? Make and model.

  • That's a vent termination, but I can't tell if it's just exhaust or concentric.

    8.33 lbs./gal. x 60 min./hr. x 20°ΔT = 10,000 BTU's/hour

Two btu per sq ft for degree difference for a slab

Real early direct vent, That was the Aerocowl termination

Mach up the mesh at local harware store and reassemble.

Be surprised you have Proper flex insulated from boiler to termination

My Buderus system is 20 years old. The vent pictured is exhaust only. There is a separate air intake 6 or 8 feet away. I need to hold a tape up to be sure, but my eye tells me this is a 6 inch vent pipe. Google seems to keep coming up with AT-4 as a model but that's for a 4 inch vent. Local boiler techs clean the boiler annually but don't seem to know anything about flues. My go-to guy who installed the system passed away quite young so no help there. He was the one who told me about "The Wall" as a source of advice.

  • Asking again: What model Buderus? Without that, we can’t give you any information.

Hi @Jim_M. 'm going to agree with @BDR529 . That vent looks quite fixable, and it looks like a pretty straightforward job. Where are you located? You might be close to a Wallie who could help if needed. 😊

    Yours, Larry

It could be the Top-Down angle of the shot, but how high off the ground is the bottom of that exhaust flue? It looks very low to me as far as Potential Snow line. Mad Dog
