Leaking stack pipe - Vertical with lateral joint
This pipe (Green) is vertical and there is a toilet connected not too far away. The problem I noticed was a rusting strap. I did clean the pipe with a wire brush and thought an epoxy would stop the leak. NOT A CHANCE. I removed the epoxy and then took these pictures today.
The leak is in the crouch for lack of a better term. Tomorrow morning after flushing I will see build up at the point the two directions meet on the part. The whole darn pipe system is held up with straps. I guess its fine but now there's rust.
Could this minor leak be cured heating the area and then applying solder? Sweating? Would the pipe blowup? I know the useful like of this part is nearing the end of its service life. Darn thing is are the very bottom of a two story, two-bath system.
Prayers and thoughts requested. John

getting epoxy to bond to it would be about your only chance of a temporary repair
