what cause flame to burn inside burner tube?

I have a customer with an old enerjet boiler. it lights up violently and flame burns inside burner tube usually for a bit then flame moves to time of burner tubes. what causes this and how can i correct it?

did you pull the burners and look at them? i know there are some burners of that style that degrade internally and cause rollout like that.

Oftentimes this is a result of low gas pressure. Check the gas pressure with all of the gas appliances running. For example, turn on stove, water heater, dryer, etc.
