Gas Pressure Adjustment for Electronic Igniter
Hello Team Member
,
I have a Carrier furnace model 58GS100-3. It is in good condition. The problem I have is the electronic pilot is on or have spark but the gas is not on. This happen intermittently. I do have 24 Vac on the gas wire and pilot light wire. I hear the gas valve is turning on. If I use a lighter the furnace will turn on. My question is, how do I increase the gas pressure on my gas valve. The model for the gas valve is 301273-705. Do I need a manometer for this procedure. Can I do this without a manometer? Where do I adjust for more gas pressure? I have attached files for reference. Your help is greatly appreciated.

if you light it manually (which i do not recommend for several reasons), does the pilot light, prove flame, then light the main burner or is your extra flame providing the flame rectification to prove the pilot?

" This happen intermittently "
So when it works correctly the pilot is fine ? If so changing the pressure probably won't help, sounds like the pilot valve is intermittently bad. If the pilot flame is just constantly low causing intermittent operation the pilot orifice maybe partially clogged and needs cleaning.

or the wire to the electrode or the electrode itself is shorting to ground and not lighting the pilot burner or something is wrong with the high voltage circuit in the ignition control.
