Water chemistry in Bosch
Had anyone experienced issues w/ water quality in a Greenstar boiler? Specifically when adding inhibitor to the system?
The HWBB system in not perfect… has some Poly butylene in the loops.
Has a caleffi mag sep in the system, Potable water extrol for the heating side (set to 15#) , stainless 007 and Adey mc+ inhibitor in a cleaned system.
The system plugged up on the BPHX.
Is it possible the inhibitor is damaging/ dissolving the HX?

is the side of the HX that is plugged on the PB tubing?
PB allows O2 in all the time, so any inhibitors need to be tested and boosted accordingly. Do you have a test kit for that specific inhibitor?
If it is a stainless HX, high chlorides can cause issues. I would send a sample of the water to the manufacturer of the inhibitor

Thanks.
Tubing runs ok.. Always has been. Its the BPHX that has been plugging. (on the boiler side)
I am very aware of the oxygen ingress issue. That is why I added the inhibitor. Also swapped out the circ pump, added the new non ferrous extrol and added the dirt sep..
The junk that comes out of the Mag dirt sep is not magnetic.
Its a Bosch Greenstar. Its an aluminum block.
I dont have an Adey test kit. The label does say its safe for all metals. But who knows.
Avg size house 2500 ft2 1 yr on a can should not have used up the inhibitor…. I would think.
It ran for a few years w/o anything and the ferrous components.
