4 Way Mixing Valve Orientation?

Quick question. With a Tekmar 4 way mixing valve ,can they be orientated in any direction? Meaning can the Acutating Motor be orientated up,down or sideways?

the 4 way valve has very specific piping requirements stated in the instructions. The motor either opens or closes. If the valve isn't piped correctly, it won't work. Follow the instructions or it can be a painful experience.

I looked at the manual and understand the piping setup. But it does not address the orientation issue.

I would have the motor facing towards you. Although the valve or the actuator do not specify orientation. Which is odd?

I also thought it odd that it did not address it. I'm going to contact Tekmar directly.

do you want or need to put it in a position other than vertical, motor facing out on a horizontal?

You definitely do not want the motor below the valve, any leak on the stem or connections would run into the actuator

Agreed. But having it "on it's back" might make piping it a bit neater. It could be low enough that I would be able to view it.

Thinking to call Tekmar Canada unless there is a rep in the US.

Spoke with Tekmar Canada and the valve can be installed in any orientation. But he did suggest not having the motor pointing down .
