Vesta VRC repeated purge

Vesta VRC combi.

Got home from work a few days ago and noticed it was taking forever to get hot water. Already takes a long time, but thus was like "nevermind, I'll just use cold, don't have all day" long.

Then noticed it's purging 4-5 times before firing for heat, so likely same for hot water.

Normally just purges once, sometimes twice.

What should I be checking? Wipe off flame sensor and ignitor?

This will be the 3rd heating season with it. Installed July 2022 so wouldn't expect to have any trouble for many more years.

Hasnt locked out, but definitely a concern as winter is coming and I'm at gone at work for a month at a time.

Sounds like it could be the air proving switch for the inducer. Check tubing for blockage or condensate not draining etc

    Or could be ignitor/flame sensor.

    Not familiar with that boiler

Ok. This is the only gas boiler I've had to troubleshoot, so all new to me, just I've got a basic understanding how it works.

I feel unprepared JUST having 1 heat source right now. Old place I mainly used wood and the boiler did the garage and backup for the house.

No woodstove here. Just a gen set if power goes out. If the boiler fails to make heat, then plugging in a couple 1500 watt space heaters I guess and hope the pipes don't freeze.

It could be the blower not getting up to speed. It could be no spark. It could be no gas. It could be too much gas. It could be condensate backing up. Apparently you can buy them on Amazon, but you can't download a manual for it. The Vesta site brought me to a blank page. B

My local supply house re badged these as their own.

They must have some tech support.

It came from Alaska Goldstar and they installed it.

Had a Baxi before but it only lasted 8 or 9 years and was problematic. Was replaced as a condition of me buying the property.

The company doesn't. I've called and left voice-mail several times for info on buying an outdoor rest and have yet to hear from them.

I definitely wouldn't buy one of these things over a known brand. No idea how to source parts for this thing aside from getting lucky on the google.

Ran into that with the old unit which was a "Baxi". Some Italien unit that getting questionable parts off ebay was easier than through the company.
