Lochinvar Noble. Heat exchanger Water inlet and outlet leaks.

I went to do a yearly heat exchanger cleaning on a tenants Lochinvar Noble NKC 199 and noticed some water on the bottom on the boiler. Both the inlet and outlet had some drips. I tightened the compression nut and it stopped leaking.
The boiler has been in operation for 7 years. Why would it have started to leak?
Are there any WiFi water leak sensors that can be placed inside the boiler to sense a leak?
Any suggestions are appreciated!

Lots of reasons..
Wear and tear. Water is the universal solvent. Heating/ cooling contraction over time can lead to issues.
The important thing is that you did the annual check and found the issue… before it became a problem.
You could use one of the simple battery operated sensors that beep if there is an issue. Someone would hear it.

When a rubber gasket gets heated and cooled over a period of time it loses its elasticity. After a while it will start leaking when the boiler is cold and probably stop when it is hot.
Viega (propress & megapress) victaulic there all the same supposed to last 50 years. I think the first time I saw Propress was around 2001 so 1/2 its life is gone. Glad I won't be around when they all start leaking!!!!!!!!
