I am trying to replace the insulation around my fan at the bottom of the furnace. It is held on by a clip. It is three insulation material going around bottom of furnace. It has mold on it. I need something that is safe to replace them. Please help.

Not sure exactly what you are referring to.

On a furnace that is connected to ductwork where the fan that blows that air thru that ductwork (called the Blower) is in the bottom position, and the rest of the heater is positioned above the blower, there is often a fiberglass liner that might get wet if the air conditioner evaporator coil's drain line overflows. That same insulation is inside the furnace portion that you can't see. If you have mold in the blower compartment, you also have that same mold inside the furnace heat exchanger compartment. You may want to get a professional to take the furnace apart and replace all the insulation in that furnace. you will also want to correct the reason the insulation got wet.

This might be similar to the material that is inside the furnace:

The stuff on the left and the center is usually glued and clipped to the furnace walls. The one on the left has a foil face and is often located inside the heat exchanger compartment where you can not see it without disassembly.

After you make that expensive repair and you still have the same problem, What will you check next?

Pictures will help. You mentioned furnace. Does this unit heat water or air.
