System 2000 - Bad Temp Sensor
Hi,
I am getting a freezing alarm (100F Flashing)
Anyone have an idea of what is the correct part for the replacement of the digital sensor. The system is from about 2002

Your best bet to to contact Energy Kinetics, sometimes they read the posts here. You may need to get a new sensor from them.
You may want to re-verify what is flashing.

If the boiler is down, you can remove the Red wire from the temperature sensor at the Manager. That should put the boiler into service mode. This is temporary, of course. Unless you're an EK dealer, I'm not sure if you can order a sensor.

probably can match up the curve and get it from mouser or digikey if ek won't sell it to you
check it with an ohmmeter and a thermometer first though

With what @mattmia2 suggests above, this may work with a Thermistor type temperature sensor. By the sensor description provided above from the manual and also posted above (and now below), I believe this senor is not a common Thermistor type sensor. I believe the Sensor is like or similar to the DS10B20 type, which uses digital communications to report the temperature, not analog. If the Manager does not see coherent data from the sensor it displays an error.

Lot of good answers here, I will just try to clear a few things up. A 100 flash on a digital manager with the temperature bars is the error code that means the system manager, which operates based on temperature, is no longer getting a temperature reading so it is actually running in what we call service board mode. In this mode, it will no longer be cold start and will just maintain temperature by running off the high limit, pretty much like any other boiler. The first step is to verify the wiring and connector has good connections to the manager, if that doesn't correct it, replace the sensor. Most likely your system still has a digital sensor (copper bulb), you can't test a digital sensor like you can a thermistor, so basically the manger is your tester, if it reads it, it's normally working fine. Since we are dealer direct, you will need to call your service provider if a replacement is sensor needed.
