How to how to clear the service notification on a Navien NCB-240

I am the homeowner of 2-year-old Navien NCB-240. I flushed the heat exchanger with descaler after year 1, but there was never any message that service was needed. At year 2 I got a wrench icon and it said service was needed. I flushed it again, but cannot figure out how to clear the wrench icon. There are no errors other than when it was initially installed. Please help.

Duct tape is good for that.

After you make that expensive repair and you still have the same problem, What will you check next?

Hi, If the tape doesn't work, maybe something here will: https://mans.io/files/viewer/460915/58 . 😎

There is an error. The boiler can still maintain "basic" operation if it's the wrench icon only, no code. If pressing the reset doesn't clear it, then get it checked with a manometer, electrical meter, and combustion analyzer. It should be professionally maintained anyway. There's more than just flushing the HX.

Seriously, aside from covering it with duct tape… if this does not help, then you require a professional service to find the problem and clear the error.

Press the reset button on the front display panel.

This info is available on page 7 and 8 of the User's Info Manual

    Hope this helps/

Will resetting the boiler affect any of the parameters set by the installer?

Are you saying that the wrench icon is not to tell you to perform regular maintenance? There is a setting called "Service Notification Time".

It's telling you that something is wrong and it needs professional repair. Resetting it will only clear it until the problem occurs again. It won't affect the parameters and installation settings.

Thanks. FYI - I have an NCB-H, which doesn't have a separate reset button. But I found in my user manual that the Return Arrow button also acts as a Reset button.

The wrench icon is gone now. We'll see if it comes back again.
