Hi- I replaced the pilot ignition on my LP Mini Therm, (JVS-50) and have found a small part that i am not sure belongs in it or maybe its for a Nat Gas version, as I dont see how it fits…..(falls through esixting orifice)

Heres a photo..Any ideas as to what or where it would go? Thanks!

Looking at many LP to Natural Gas and Natural Gas to LP conversion kits for Laars Mini Therm units, there is one of those things with every kit. Depending on the kit the number of burner orifices changes and the components to modify the gas valve regulator seems consistent and that item is not in the Honeywell Gas Valve conversion instructions.

So I suspect it is the orifice for the pilot. Since that may also have to be change with a Gas conversion.

What orifice does that orifice fall through? That is a pilot orifice. Whether it's for LP or Natural Gas, IDK. If there's currently one in the pilot assembly, whichever of the two has the smaller hole is for LP.

Thanks for the info. I dont remember there being one in the old pilot assembly, I have a honeywell regulator, - I think this fell out of the replacement unit…
