Envirex Digesters Gas Hydronic Exchanger

I am Currently working on an Envirex brand (1968) Sludge Heater.

I had had a problem with the oil fired side of this Exchanger, meaning a leak

on the oil gun, that could not be repaired. I had brought in an Engineering

firm , because I was 6 years old when this was installed. My question is,

was this the correct thing to do?
