WM GV4 Series 2 With 1013-200 Control

When the boiler reach's temperature limit, gas shuts off and flame led and power led blink a few times and then stop blinking. Igniter replaced but the same thing happens. Other than that, boiler seems to be operating as it should. Boiler is about 33 years old. Anyone know what's going on?

So, I guess not too many GV boilers are still around because they have not been made in a while. However, on the chance that someone at some time might need to know… The fix was to remove the control board from it's plastic case and give it and the board, and wiring harness connectors a good cleaning.

can you dig out or look up the manual , it may explain what the sequence of flashes indicates

I think the GV is still around, but if is not like the one you have

The original had a 3 way thermostatics inside for low temperature operation then I think they switched to a pump, now an external hx

Hi Hotrod, I've not been posting much since the days Icesailor. Mostly lurking. I have the manual, and trouble shooting maps etc. Nothing in them even came close to what I thought to be an odd issue. It was not till a full week later the boiler would not stay lit. Letting it go through the the 3 attempts then showed the blinking flame and power lights constant. Maps then pointed to the control board. This is an earlier GV 4 version. It only has the spring to control cold water, and I don't know if it's stuck open or closed. If open it don't much matter as the boiler has too much nut for this size house. I'm aware of WM service memo for a bypass setup but I never had it done. I'm very happy with this boiler and will most likely replace it with GV90, only going a little smaller. Thanks for chiming in.
