Is it recommended to flush out a new unit before piping it into the system?
Not steam but water.

more practical to run a cleaner in the system after it is installed, flush that out, then refill. there will be stuff in the new piping to install it as well as stuff om the system that it would be a good idea to flush out.

This will be in a radiant floor heat system. What product is recommended?

you want to run the temperature up so the cleaners work best. So run the cleaner after the entire system is complete.
Running to 180 or higher also drives air out is solution best.
Several companies offer these treatment kits, this is Rhomar brand
