Tekmar Thermostat/Sensor question

I think I know the answe but would like to make sure!

If I wire this thermostat up with 24v power and connect the floor sensor and do not connect it to my switching Relay. Will it function as just a remote "thermometer"?

The reason is to determine a baseline temp of the floor before having it control the circulator.
