1860-1870s Steam Radiator

I’m going to give this another shot. I have found that shipping costs are prohibitive and make It very difficult to move.

It’s a very rare radiator, especially one in this condition. I know. I did this for a long time and the only other one I’ve seen that was close to this pristine, came from the same church built in the mid 1800s.

I think it would take someone willing to drive to Las Vegas and have the muscle or the mechanical means to load it on a truck. Unfortunately, I can’t help in either regard.

It measures roughly 34” long, 10” wide, and 35” high, I don’t know it’s weight, but I helped take it out off of the church balcony and we had to carry it over some church pews There were three of us and it took everything we had.

I’m asking $400 for this unique and rare find. I’ll package the intact, brittle, cast iron top. You’ll need to bring the shipping blankets to wrap the radiator. I can have it waiting for you right at my garage door.

Feel free to email me at stephen.minnich@yahoo.com if you are genuinely interested.

Thank you.

Gorgeous, but I have no spot for it.🙁

It'd be helpful if you posted whether it's 1 pipe or 2 pipe, what it's presently tapped for and if the valve comes with it.

Trying to squeeze the best out of a Weil-McLain JB-5 running a 1912 1 pipe system.

    More information -

The radiator was piped for one-pipe steam. The tapping on the valve side is 1 1/4”. I believe the valve to be original because it had the same number of paint coats and all the same colors as the radiator. I’m not 100% certain of that. The far side has a 1” x 3/4” bushing with a 3/4” plug. The air vent was a Hofffman 1A.

I am, after 60 years in Chicago.

I had a company get a shipping quote to NYC and the cheapest he found was $700.

Its fair but "got $$ just not to spend.." on that. My old Victorian Farmhouse has all its antique rads...I'd have no room for that. What I would make room for is The Pantry Radiator...that's on my hit list if anyone comes across one. Mad Dog
