I installed a Benjamin wood boiler in my garage and an electric boiler in conjunction inside the house. Absolutely love it and so efficient. 1200$ for heat and hydro for a year!

Are you purchasing wood? What was the 1200 bucks spent on?

I do cut my own hardwood. Only 2-3 cord/ year. ICF 1600 sq ft. I think this heating option would still be cheaper than others if I had to buy it. I have a fire for 4-5 hours each night only. Temperature in house only changes 1 degree until next night. I preheat domestic water through indirect coil in it as well. Free hot water basically in winter
