looking for recommendation-thoughts
looking to heat a small 850 square foot cottage has a 4 loop radiant manifold in now
also heat domestic hot water
very limited space
has a tankless now to do both but continuous problems
have hard water
any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

I think it depends on how high end of a Unit you’re looking to get
Look into a quality water softener, Express Water has a good quality lower cost unit
As for a Combi, Burnham Alta or a Laars Combi too not break the bank. Just units I prefer some, lean towards a Navien.

Keep the Takagi for domestic hot water and get a decent, small mod-con boiler for radiant heat. Flush the Takagi unit of hardness. Don't get Navien.

got room for a tank? A combicor would be a simple reliable option. Plenty of DHW and a nice buffer for that tiny heat load
