Energy Kinetics EKF1 - New installation not heating radiators as hot as previous boiler

I have a new installation of an EKF1 and one thing I've noticed is that the radiator temperature is much lower than my previous EGO4 Weil-McClain oil boiler.

It's taking much longer to heat my house.

I was reading on the forums that I can increase the return temperature? I have the LCD manager.

Be interested in any thoughts.

Thank you.

We have a feature called smart boost in the display manager. When enabled it will increase the supply water temperature by 20 degrees. The smart boost will kick in after 25 minutes of a call for heat if it hasn't been satisfied. This can also be set for a 45-minute start time if desired.

Thanks Robert! I'll try the smart boost first. Can you confirm this is your latest manual?

@dla06060 the lower temperature radiators will MAINTAIN the heat at a set temperature at a lower fuel cost. The lower radiator temperature will use less fuel. The fact that it takes much longer to heat the house tells me that you are using some sort of set back, and the recovery is taking longer to get back to the desired temperature, after the setback time is over. With the EK control system, you may not need to use a lower room temperature to reduce your fuel usage. So unless you are setting the temperature lower because you just like to sleep in a cooler home, I might try leaving the thermostat at one temperature. That way the home is already at the temperature you want and you don't need to wait any longer to get there , because it is already there… at a lower operating cost.

    Just a thought.

After you make that expensive repair and you still have the same problem, What will you check next?
