Rinnai R85e (2532W) - 2009ish install
Anyone know what could cause this corrosion on the burner tray and edge of the h/e & flame/burner assembly? I'm suspecting this was some kind of acute event with air/gas/water rather than a slow accumulation.
Water collects at the bottom of the recess box and I'm seeing intermittent hot water with inconsistent temp control with no flashing codes but 72,11, etc in the code memory. Flushed unit and vacuumed & blew air thru burners, coils and flame/burner tray enclosure.
Thanks in advance!

Which way was the vent pitched? In or out?

Out (external). I think it's pitched downward but maybe not enough to keep some truly horizontal rain out? Would water intrusion back into the flue be a suspicion?
