Chart for BTU reduction/increase based on radiator paint?
awhile back while listening to one of Dan’s seminars on steam heating he mentioned how certain paint types can change the heat output, decreasing or increasing it and he had a nifty vintage chart showing the data in percentages by paint color from an old engineering/trade magazine. Does anyone have a chart like this they could post or link to? I’ve flipped through the the lost art of steam heating and the companion book and couldn’t find one. Thanks!!

And remember that the paint only effects radiation heat transfer, with no effect on convective heat transfer. So whatever minimal effect the paint has on radiation is further mitigated by the fact that radiation is only a portion of the radiator's heat transfer mechanism.
