THERMOCOUPLE ISSUES

I have a HARMAN CLARITY DV PROPANE STOVE. The thermocouple has been getting replaced between every 1-3 years for the last 20 years. The Harman parts list shows that the part number is 3-40-08228. The part number that the repairman has been installing is 3-40-08906. Are these compatible and if so, is there a difference in quality between the 8228 and the 8906 which causes the 8906 to fail so often. Thank you.

Not sure what brand of Thermocouple that is, but the Penn/Johnson Husky is the most durable I've found. Mad Dog
